BA CityFlyer RJ suffers hard landing at London City Airport

The nose landing gear on an Avro RJ operated by British Airways CityFlyer has collapsed after a hard landing at London City Airport. The incident, which happened around 7.30 pm (GMT) closed the runway, causing other flights into the airport to be diverted.

BA reports that all 67 passengers and four crew of flight BA8456 have been safely evacuated.

The UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has begun an investigation to discover the cause of the accident.
