AirTran Airways has reported traffic for the month of April 2009, with the airline's load factor and revenue passenger miles (RPMs) each representing new all-time company records for the month of April.
The airline recorded 1,513,088,000 RPMs in April, up 0.3% from April 2008's figure of 1,508,554,000. Available seat miles dropped by 7.9% to 1,882,040,000 from 2,042,684,000
in the same month last year.
This resulted in a record April load factor of 80.4%, an increase of 6.5 percentage points over the 73.9% achieved in April 2008. Like the RPMs, the total passengers carried also rose by 0.3% to 1,994,252 from 1,988,265.
