Ukrainian airline, Aerosvit has launched commercial services with the Antonov An-148-100B.

In conjunction with the aircraft's manufacturer, Antonov Design Complex, the aircraft started flying on a regular routes between Kiev and Kharkiv on June 2.

Initially, the aircraft will operate on Aerosvit's domestic routes, replacing the An-24 turboprop and Yak-42 aircraft, but the company hopes that in the near future, once legal and technical issues are agreed, the An-148 plane will operate on some international routes.

The company says that the beginning of operations with the aircraft is a significant waypoint in the An-148 development programme.

They say it is compliant with ICAO and Eurocontrol regulations and can operate in regions with intensive air traffic without any limitations.

Aerosvit operates Kiev-Kharkiv flight on a daily basis. The plane departs Kiev Boryspil airport at 13.30 and arrives to Kharkiv at 14.30.

Later on the day it departs Kharkiv at 1750 and arrives in Kiev at 1850.

In Aerosvit operation the aircraft is in a two-class configuration with a business and economy cabin.
