American Eagle and Executive Airlines March traffic released
American Eagle Airlines has reported March 2009 traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Executive Airlines.
Eagle itself reported a March load factor of 73.6%, down 0.8 percentage points (pp) compared to 74.4% for the same period last year. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) decreased by 5.6% year-over-year to 598,915,000 from 634,680,000, as capacity in available seats miles (ASMs) decreased by 4.6% to 814,271,000 from 853,607,000.
The airline carried 1,320,270 passengers during March, down 7.6% on March 2008's figure of 1,428,450.
At Executive Airlines, passengers carried in March fell by 6.0% from 235,521 in March 2008 to 221,390 in March this year. The airline recorded RPMs of 44,153,000, a 12.5% decline from the March 2008 figure of 50,474,000. Executive Airlines' year-on-year capacity for March was almost flat with 79,916,000 ASMs in 2009 and 79,955,000 in 2008.
The turboprop operator's load factor was 55.3% in March 2009, 7.9 pp down on March 2008's 63.1%.
