American Eagle and Executive Airlines April traffic announced

American Eagle Airlines has reported April 2009 traffic figures for itself and its wholly-owned subsidiary Executive Airlines.

American Eagle's revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for the month totalled 595,885,000, a drop of 6.2% compared with 635,565,000 in April 2008. Capacity, in available seat miles (ASMs), was down 8.8% to 808,144,000 from 886,578,000.

This resulted in a load factor of 73.7%, 2.0 percentage points (pp) up on April 2008's 71.7%, while carrying 1,308,300 passengers, down 8.1% from 1,423,142 passengers carried in April last year.

Executive Airlines' RPMs reached 48,546,000, an increase of 4.9% over last April's figure of 46,264,000. Capacity (ASMs) grew by 3.8%  to 79,575,000 from 76,679,000 resulting in a load factor of 61.0%, slightly up (by 0.7 pp) on the 60.3% achieved in April 2008.

The airline carried 237,014 in April 2009, up 9.7% on last April's 216,044 passengers transported.
