Allegiant Air reported preliminary passenger traffic results for July 2009 including a 37% increase in the number of passenger carried compared with July 2008. That rise in passenger numbers saw 498,123 customers fly with the airline in July 2009 compared with 362,809 last July.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 447,233,000, compared with 316,369,000 last July, an increase of 41.4%. Capacity in available seat miles (ASMs) grew by 50.1% to 499,085,000 from 332,398,000.
The resultant load factor, while still high at 89.6%, was down by 5.6 percentage points compared with July 2008's 95.2%.
