Allegiant Air's April 2009 load factor exceeds 90%

Allegiant Air has reported its preliminary passenger traffic results for April 2009, featuring a load factor of more than 90%.

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) totalled 399,887,000, representing a 34.0% increase on April 2008's figure of 298,355,000. Available seat miles offered numbered 442,620,000, up 29.8% on last April's 340,938,000.

This resulted in the 90.3% load factor which was 2.8 percentage points higher than April 2008's 87.5%. During April 2009 the airline carried 445,738 passengers which, compared with last April's figure of 327,957, was an increase of 35.9%.

The number of departures rose by 30.3% to 3,348 from 2,569, while the average stage length dropped by 1.5 % to 882 miles from 895 miles in April 2008.
