AirTran Airways plans to begin flights between Yeager Airport in Charleston, WV – a new destination for the carrier – and Orlando International Airport, FL, from 25 June. Initially the service will be twice-weekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, using Boeing 717 aircraft.

"AirTran Airways is pleased to connect residents of West Virginia's capital city with Orlando, one of the family vacation capitals of the world," said Kevin Healy, the airline's senior vice-president of marketing and planning for AirTran Airways. "Our expansion to Charleston opens a gateway for residents in the heart of the Appalachians to get to Orlando."

With the addition of Charleston, AirTran Airways will provide service to 63 destinations nationwide, including 36 nonstop cities from Orlando.
