AirTran adds service at major bases

AirTran Airways has begun a series of new routes, both year-round and seasonal.

The carrier has started nonstop seasonal service between Atlanta, GA, and Portland, ME, and Harrisburg, PA. The daily nonstop flight to Harrisburg will operate through to 8 September, while the daily service to Portland will continue until 3 November.

Daily nonstop flights have also begun between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, DC, and General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, WI.

Also from Atlanta, AirTran has commenced daily nonstop flights to Atlantic City, NJ. The low-fare carrier begins nonstop flights from Atlantic City to Orlando, FL, on 12 June.

Orlando has another new connection with AirTran having started service to Asheville, NC. The airline will offer three nonstop flights each week on the route.
