airBaltic June and half-year figures show passenger growth continuing

Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 258,051 passenger in June 2009 (from Riga and Vilnius), representing a 3% increase on the 249,995 carried in the same month in 2008. In June this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in Riga increased by 31% compared to the same period last year.

During the first six months of 2009, airBaltic transported a total of 1,205,231 passengers, some 8% more than during the same period in 2008, when the total number of passengers was 1,118,917.

In June, the airline operated 3,965 flights, 9% fewer than the 4,376 flights of June 2008. Between January and the end of June, the airline operated 21,138 flights in all.

Passenger load factor in June 2009 was 72%, or 8 percentage points more than June 2008's 64%. During 1H09 the load factor was 7 percentage points up on 1H08, the figure reaching 64% compared with 58%.

airBaltic achieved a 15-minute flight punctuality level of 91.7% in June 2009. This means that more than 91 of every 100 airBaltic flights in June departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
