AirAsia's Perth?Bali service up and running

AirAsia has celebrated the inaugural daily roundtrip on its new route from Bali to Perth, with 100% load factor both ways, underlining the potential long-term demand.

From 19 August, the airline will be servicing the route with two direct daily flights. Perth is the first Australian destination to be served from Indonesia by AirAsia Indonesia, which has succeeded in passing the strict regulations of the Foreign Airline Operating Certificate of Australia and in meeting the requirements of the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASAA).

Dharmadi, chief executive officer of AirAsia Indonesia commented, “We are very keen to position Bali as the gateway to Indonesia and other Asean cities as the airport also offers strong domestic and international connections.”

Kathleen Tan, regional head of commercial of AirAsia Group reported that the carrier has sold over 75,000 seats since May when the route, whcih is being operated with Airbus A320s, opened for sale.
