AirAsia is to boost its international connectivity by launching service between Kuala Lumpur and Taipei on 1 July.

The new route will begin with five direct flights weekly, operated by AirAsia’s long-haul affiliate, AirAsia X.

AirAsia regional head of commercial, Kathleen Tan commented, “Taipei is the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle to our oriental network strategy and we are extremely excited on the potential of this route. In the past, we have been receiving a lot of requests from our guests and the travel community in Malaysia and Taiwan, thus we are really thrilled that this route is now finally happening. Most importantly, we believe our low fares will help to stimulate and trigger new travel demand, and will help to boost tourism potential on both ends."
