AirAsia makes KL?Taipei flights daily
AirAsia is to increase the frequency on its Kuala Lumpur–Taipei route. Operated by AirAsia’s low-fare long-haul affiliate AirAsia X, the route was launched on 23 April 2009 with five weekly flights. Now, to meet the extra demand, the airline has decided to go daily on the route from 19 October.
“The response has been incredible ever since the opening of the Kuala Lumpur–Taipei route,” remarked Azran Osman Rani, chief executive officer of AirAsia X. “We are running at more than 75% load factor. This latest route addition also marked a breaking sales record with more than 20,000 seats sold within the first 12 hours of its sales announcement in April. Forward bookings were exceptionally strong allowing us to now increase our frequency to daily.”
The Kuala Lumpur–Taipei route is serviced by Airbus A330-300s, which hold 383 economy seats including 28 Premium seats with 60-inch seat pitch.
