Air Berlin reports double-digit revenue growth for January 2009

Air Berlin has announced a double-digit increase in its revenue per available seat kilometre (Yield per ASK) for January 2009. Compared with January 2008, revenue per available seat kilometre rose from 4.06 to 4.99 eurocents, an increase of 23%.

Load factor improved by 0.3 percentage points to reach 69.4% (2008: 69.1%). Capacity for the month of January was reduced by 4.9% to 2,452,059 ASKs, and the number of passengers carried decreased by 4.5% from 1,781,556 in January 2008 to 1,701,780 passengers.
