Air Berlin increases revenues in February

Air Berlin has reported an increase in its revenue per available seat kilometre (yield per ASK) for February 2009, with revenue rising by 12% to 5.28 eurocents  from 4.71 eurocents in February last year.

Passengers carried decreased by 8.5 % from 1,874,177 in February 2008 to 1,714,240 in February 2009, in part due to a capacity reduction of 6.3%.

For the same period, fleet capacity utilisation decreased by 1.7 percentage points from 72.5% to 70.8%, one reason for which was an extra day in February 2008.
