A J Walter inventory support for Volaris A320s
A J Walter Aviation (AJW) is to support up to 54 Airbus A320s for the Mexican low-fare airline, Volaris. AJW has formed a strategic power-by-the-hour alliance with Aveos, the Montreal-based repair and maintenance facility, to deliver an advanced integrated inventory solution to maximise the efficiency of the Volaris fleet, which is expanding from 21 to 54 aircraft over the next few years.
This inventory solution is seen by Volaris as a fundamental part of its business focus, ensuring it can reach its operational goals of on-time performance and maintenance reliability. AJW will manage $25m of pool stock located in Memphis and Miami.
“We have agreed special performance procedures with Aveos and Volaris to locate and dispatch spares in the shortest possible time," reported Boris Wolstenholme, AJW's commercial director. "The infrastructure is in place for a contract of this scale and we have a knowledgeable team who understand exemplary service delivery.
“This contract, combined with our strategic alliance with Aveos, will be the platform to expand AJW’s pooling and logistics solution into the Americas and Canada. It is our aim to demonstrate to customers how streamlining MRO and spares operations can deliver robust and dependable support to improve airlines’ profitability and reputation,” Wolstenholme added.
