Quad A 2019: MD Helicopters Swift disqualified from FARA

The US Army has officially disqualified MD Helicopters' Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) Swift demonstrator from competition consideration. 

In response, the OEM is claiming the decision to do so was based either on the service’s failure to read through its proposal or that the company itself filed a proposal that ‘wasn’t sufficiently clear', according to Lynn Tilton, CEO at MD Helicopters.

The Swift demonstrator concept was expected to be an iteration of the MD 969 light utility design complete with a composite airframe, a wing, NOTAR anti-torque system, new fans and thrusters
