Contract modification forms part of 142-aircraft overhaul

Lockheed Martin is to provide ‘contractor over and above support’ for 50 retrofit aircraft in the Taiwanese F-16 Peace Phoenix Rising programme under a new $53.18 million contract modification from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, the DoD announced on 16 November.

The modification also includes acquisition of legacy aircraft hardware and equipment.

Work will be performed locally in Taiwan and at Fort Worth, Texas, for completion by the end of December 2023.

The Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) plans to upgrade its entire 142 F-16A/B fleet to the F-16V configuration under the F-16 Peace Phoenix Rising programme, which began in 2016.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2023, according to Shephard Defence Insight.
