Thailand’s state-owned Defence Technology Institute (DTI) has initiated a range of upgrades to its existing UAV portfolio, including the Tiger Shark II and TEagle Eye III.

The upgrade to the Tiger Shark II medium range tactical UAV will see a 3W International fuel-injected petrol engine installed, rather than a previous carburettor version, with the testing phase reportedly 95% complete.

A spokesman from the Research Unit and Development Centre for Space and Aeronautical Science and Technology, RTAF, told Shephard during the Defence & Security 2015 exhibition in Bangkok that the UAV would be ready for series production in 2016.
