The Schiebel Camcopter S-100 Unmanned Air System (UAS) has supported the provision of security at the fifth meeting of the G-20 Heads of Government in Seoul, South Korea during the period 11-12 November 2010.

It is testament to the Camcopter S-100 s outstanding capabilities as a proven VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) surveillance platform, that it was the only UAS to be entrusted with providing security support for the world s top twenty Leaders which reflects the absolute trust placed in this highly effective and capable system. The Schiebel team was requested to assist in the provision of surveillance for the G20 by the top security board within South Korea and the UAS was supported by a small team of Schiebel personnel, which demonstrates its agile and minimal logistic footprint.

During the summit, a number of sorties were flown amidst the very tight security surrounding the G-20 and the Camcopter S-100 performed perfectly throughout, integrating seamlessly with the multi-facetted surveillance layers employed by the security services. When not airborne, the Camcopter S-100 maintained a stand-by posture throughout the conference, reflecting its fast and flexible ability to provide accurate and effective surveillance wherever and whenever needed. The pictures of the flights were displayed in real-time on over hundreds screens in the control room of the command center.

Company owner and Chairman, Mr. Hans Georg Schiebel said, We are extremely proud to have provided a fundamental element of security for the G-20 with the Camcopter S-100 and to have played such a key part in enhancing the security measures of this event. It is very gratifying that the people responsible for the security of the G-20 recognized the Camcopter S-100 as the most advanced and capable UAS in its class, choosing it as the integral provider of essential surveillance.
