ITT Corporation has been awarded a $72 million Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for its Aviator's Night Vision Imaging Systems, night vision tubes and spare parts.

The company competitively won 100 percent of the IDIQ contract awarded by the US Army Research Development and Engineering Command. With this most recent award, ITT remains the sole supplier of aviation goggles and tubes to the US Army.

"This award continues our long history of supplying US Army rotary-wing aviators with the most advanced night vision technology available," said Mike Hayman, president of ITT's Night Vision business.

"ITT's Generation 3 image intensification technology provides aviators the clearest vision on even the darkest nights, and in the most demanding environments." Each AN/AVS-6 goggle is outfitted with ITT's proprietary Generation 3 Pinnacle tube, and auto-gated power supply that maintains the image resolution under varying light conditions.

ITT's Night Vision business, based in Roanoke, Va., is the world's leading developer, producer and supplier of head- and helmet-mounted night vision solutions and image intensifiers for US and allied military forces, as well as the homeland security market.

ITT has served the US military with premier research, development, production and logistics for analog and digital fusion solutions for 50 years. ITT delivered its one millionth Gen 3 image intensification tube in 2007.
