Soteria reveals new look for rescue helicopters
Soteria, the consortium chosen as the preferred bidder for the UK's Search and Rescue Helicopter programme, has revealed an artist's impression of the scheme that could eventually adorn its S-92s.
ROTORHUB revealed last year that a new orange and black scheme would would be used on the aircraft of the winning bidder. The scheme has not only been designed for high visibility but also to differentiate the S-92s from the aircraft currently being used for SAR including the bright yellow Sea Kings of the Royal Air Force and the grey and orange counterparts from the Fleet Air Arm.
The aircraft will, however, carry the insignia of the RAF and Royal Navy as well as the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) on the forward fuselage. The aircraft is also carrying British roundels and fin flashes presumably to represent the military element of the organisation.
The images appeared on the organisation's website this morning.
