Metro Aviation to complete new Carolinas Medical Center EC135s

Metro Aviation has been selected to complete three new EC135 air medical helicopters for MedCenter Air, based in Charlotte, North Carolina at Carolinas Medical Center.

Metro will receive the basic airframes direct from the manufacturer and will perform the comprehensive completion and subsequent delivery of all three aircraft at the company’s main facility in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The new aircraft will eventually replace the current operating fleet and will be equipped with the latest generation SPIFR equipment that will meet or exceed all State and Federal safety recommendations.

Jason Schwebach, administrative director for MedCenter Air commented, “Metro was the clear choice because of their extensive worldwide experience with the EC135 air medical completions.”

MedCenter Air is an air medical industry leader and has been CAMTS accredited since 1997.

Metro’s main facility includes over 100 highly trained technicians performing installation, manufacturing, design, modification, maintenance and support of both completions and company owned and operated aircraft located around the United States.

The managing director for Metro Aviation, Milton Geltz added, “We at Metro are proud to be selected as the completion provider to MedCenter Air and we look forward to delivering these state of the art air medical aircraft on time and on budget.”

Metro Aviation, Inc., based in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States is a worldwide provider of completion services for all missions and types of helicopters and specializes in the EC135 and EC145 with several Supplemental Type Certificates (STC) developed by the company for these and other aircraft.

Metro is an FAA approved repair station, approved Eurocopter Service Center and FAR Part 135 air medical operations provider at several locations across the United States.
