RUAG Australia has been awarded a four-year contract for Multi-Aircraft Hydraulic and Undercarriage Systems Support (MAHUSS) for multiple aircraft, the company announced on 25 February.

The Australian Defence Materiel Organisation awarded the multi-million dollar performance-based contract to deliver maintenance solutions for the flight control and hydraulic systems of various aircraft in the Australian Defence Force.

Aircraft covered in the contract include the AP-3C Orion and F/A-18A/B Classic Hornet. RUAG will also provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the CH-47 Chinook and S-70B Seahawk fleets.

RUAG Australia will increase its on-site presence at the air force base in Williamtown, New South Wales to further reduce sustainment cost and increase aircraft availability.

Philipp Berner, CEO of the aviation division, RUAG, said: 'We are proud to have been awarded this contract. It reinforces our view of the importance of the Australian market for RUAG.'
