30 November 2009 - 18:15 by the Shephard News Team

CityJet, operating under the Air France code, is to take over operations of the London City to Milan Linate service, currently flown by its codeshare partner, Air One.

The service will have two flights each way on weekdays and one on Sundays and will eventually be an Air France–Alitalia codeshare once Air One’s amalgamation into Alitalia is complete. CityJet, which will use 95-seat Avro RJ85s on the route, will be also promoting its onward connections from London City to both Dublin and Edinburgh to this market.

With this new operation, the recently-begun codeshare with Baboo on London City–Geneva–Venice plus other codeshares, CityJet for Air France now has approximately 47% of movements at London City, according to the carrier's head of commercial, Patrick Edmond.
