Avianova to use FMS data from Lufthansa Systems
Lufthansa Systems has won another customer for its Flight Management System (FMS) database following its selection by Russian low-fare airline Avianova. The two companies recently signed a five-year contract to this effect.
The FMS database contains all important route information including altitude and airport data for optimising routes and supporting autopilots on board modern aircraft. The navigation data, which are based on global aeronautical information, are updated and organised monthly and can be customised to specific routes and for the use in any type of aircraft.
Avianova is a new Russian low-fare carrier based at Vnukovo airport, Moscow. Its fleet consists of IAE V2500-powered Airbus A320s. Avianova now employs more than 100 staff.
