airBaltic to launch flights from Riga to Dushanbe

From Monday 1 June, airBaltic will begin nonstop flights from Riga to the capital city of Tajikistan, Dushanbe.

The launch will make airBaltic the only airline in the European Union to offer nonstop flights to Dushanbe. This move is part of airBaltic’s strategy of offering new destinations in the eastern regions of the CIS. So far, the airline has already announced a total of seven new destinations for the 2009 summer season – Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Tromso (Norway), Linkoping (Sweden), Turku (Finland), Geneva (Switzerland), and Palanga and Kaunas (Lithuania).

airBaltic will offer flights to Dushanbe twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays – using Boeing 737s. The flight will take 5 h 30 min.
