airBaltic opens first of five routes from Vilnius

airBaltic has begun operations on the first of five direct routes from Vilnius with a flight to Paris on 18 December.

The other new destinations, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam and Rome, will all be added by 11 January 2010.

Tero Taskila, chief commercial officer of airBaltic, remarked, “The Vilnius airport has now become more attractive for airlines. As of January 2010, we will be operating flights from Vilnius to seven different destinations. Based on success of the new routes, airBaltic will evaluate additional destinations.”

Nonstop flights to Paris are being offered on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while Berlin will be offered on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights to Munich will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, to Amsterdam daily except Saturdays, and to Rome on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. All services will utilise Boeing 737 aircraft.
