Sniper pod expands Taiwan capabilities

Taiwan's air force is to increase its precision attack capabilities with the acquisition of new sniper pods fitted to its aircraft.

Lockheed Martin has announced an initial contract to provide two Sniper Advanced Targeting Pods (ATP) and integration support to the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF).

‘This is part of the F-16A/B upgrade package provided by the US military,’ said Kevin Cheng, a Taiwanese military expert. The Sniper ATP will be integrated with JDAM, helmet-mounted displays and new data link system.
