Exelis confident in EnHCDR development

ITT Exelis is confident its new enhanced variant of the High Capacity Data Radio (HCDR) is on schedule to be delivered to the UK MoD on time, company officials have confirmed.

The enhanced variant, the EnHCDR, will offer advanced capability to the legacy variant that contributes to the Bowman tactical radio system.

‘We’re on track to the recent dates,’ John Wall, MD of Exelis Defence, told Shephard.

‘The EnHCDR will be available later this year and will roll out to UK forces next year. The radio is being updated by the UK team using no US input, while the original product
