Farnborough 2012: Raytheon bids for FAB-T

Raytheon has announced that it has responded to an RfP from USAF to bid for the alternative Family of Beyond Line of Sight Terminals (FAB-T).

The original contract for the programme was awarded to Boeing in 2002, since when the project has been hampered by ‘schedule delays and cost issues’.

Scott Whatmough, VP of integrated communication systems for Raytheon, explained to Shephard that an RfP for the alternative programme was released in March and a decision is expected on the contract in September. Raytheon submitted its proposal on 7 June.
