Modern Infantry and FIND 2011 Nov 09 - Nov 11 2011

Modern Infantry and FIND 2011

Shephard’s Night Vision and EOS event, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2011, is widening its scope to cover surveillance and target acquisition techniques and will now be known as FIND. It will provide existing Night Vision and EOS exhibitors with a wider audience of global military, government and industry delegates, who are involved in threat identification on the battlefield.

Modern Infantry and FIND 2011 will be held at the National Shooting Centre at Bisley on 9-11 November.
Both events are organised in association with A|D|S, the UK’s organisation for Aerospace, Defence and Security.

The event will include one major exhibition and three outdoor demonstration areas with two conference streams: the Modern Infantry conference, dedicated to all aspects of military equipment; and the FIND conference, dedicated to target acquisition, surveillance and night observation.

Free exhibition passes will allow attendees to also access the three outdoor demonstration areas where equipment will be demonstrated.

A flagship conference on 'Nanotechnologies for Soldier Enhancement, Protection and Support' will take place on Friday 11th November. The new science of nano is already being applied in the battlefield, dramatically enhancing soldier safety and effectiveness. Top military researchers from across the world will discuss some of the latest developments.

Shooting at World famous Bisley

Formed in 1859, with its origins on Wimbledon Common, the National Rifle Association provided a focus for marksmanship for the newly formed corps of volunteers which had been raised to meet the perceived threat of invasion by the French.
In 1890, The NRA moved from Wimbledon to Bisley and brought with it many of the original buildings which give Bisley its unique heritage.  This includes the iconic clock tower and some of the colonial clubhouses.
Situated within 3,000 acres of beautiful natural Surrey heathland, Bisley is situated 30 miles south of London, with easy access to the motorway network (M3, M25 and M4) and 35 miles by train to London from nearby Brookwood Station.  Bisley is widely recognised as the spiritual home of shooting,  what Twickenham is to Rugby,  Bisley is to shooting.  Continuing a Royal tradition started in 1860, HM The Queen’s Prize Final is held during the World Championships Meeting  at Bisley in July each year.  The Queen is Patron of the NRA and Prince Charles is President.
