CENTRE FOR JOINT WARFARE STUDIES

The Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS) was raised at the initiative of the Ministry of Defence on 24 August 2007 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 in India. CENJOWS is an independent, professional research institute established in pursuit of strengthening the concept of ‘Jointness’ within the defence forces, as well as with other agencies that jointly contribute towards the nation’s war fighting capability. It is presently located within the precincts of HQ Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) in Kashmir House Complex.

The Hon’ble Defence Minister is the Patron-in-Chief with the three Service chiefs, defence secretary, secretary defence finance, members of parliament, members from academia and industry and former Chiefs of Integrated Staff (CISC) forming the Advisory Board.  The CISC, HQ IDS chairs the Executive Council which has Deputy Chiefs of HQ IDS as other members.
